Feasibility study on the Establishment of industrial/business zones in the municipalities of Central BiH Region is aimed to activation of unused and underutilized capacity of the large industrial plants or to establish completely new industrial zones in new locations.

Overall objective

Provide a comprehensive assessment of the possibilities related to activation of unused and underutilized capacity of the large industrial plants or to establish completely new industrial zones in new locations throughout the region of Central BiH.

Specific objective

Prepare and publish Feasibility study for the establishment of industrial/business zones in the municipalities of Central BiH.

Achieved results

The study prepared, which:

  • Defined the role of all actors involved in the process of establishing industrial/business zones in order to identify problems related to the establishment of the zone (financing, complex ownership issues, promotion and other issues) and offered alternatives to overcome these problems.
  • Assessed the global impact of the global industrial/business zones to reduce poverty, unemployment, creating an environment that encourages the growth of businesses, development of small and medium-sized enterprises, increase economic activity and attract foreign companies and investors.
  • Identified needs and demonstrated a model of cooperation between the public and private sector regarding the implementation of the concept of industrial zone, with special emphasis on cooperation between REZ Agency and other stakeholders of economic development.
