In August 2004, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Cluster Competitiveness Activity (CCA) project in the wood processing industry sector (hereinafter WPS). After the establishment of the working group from representatives of wood processing companies and other relevant institutions and a series of meetings held, the working group identified the most significant problems encountered by wood processing companies in the Central BiH region and beyond.

One of the priority activities is to bridge the gap between the necessary skills and the lack of qualified labor in the wood processing sector. The Education Action Team identified the activities necessary to resolve this problem. One of the identified activities, as a possible contribution to the overall resolution of this problem, is the preparation of the document “Analysis of the available labor force in the wood processing sector”.

REZ – Regional Development Agency for the region Central Bosnia and Herzegovina was selected as the most favorable bidder for the development of the above analysis, which should offer an answer to all the issues contained in the project assignment. The research was conducted in the period September-October 2005 and the results of the conducted research are presented in the document “Analysis of available labor in the wood processing sector in relation to the industry needs”.
